I wrote these cards while studying for my own A Levels, between 2021 and 2023. I got three A*s and went on to obtain a First Class Degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. In 2026 I rebuilt my flashcards: the diagrams have been redrawn, equations are properly typeset, and spelling and formatting have been tidied throughout. Most of the marks in A Level Chemistry come from applying and analysing what you know, so the answers explain why reactions happen and work through calculations step by step, rather than just listing facts.

Free deck vs full deck
My free decks on AnkiWeb used diagrams and screenshots from textbooks and revision sites that I didn't own, so I've taken them out. The free decks still work, but some cards had to go and others lost their diagram, so they no longer cover every point in the specification. The full deck has all of those cards back, organised to follow the AQA specification, with every diagram redrawn or replaced with a copyright-free one.

139 cards had to be removed from the free deck. The free sample topic is part of the full deck, so it has the new diagrams too.
What students said about the free deck
Reviews of my free Chemistry deck on AnkiWeb, written before the 2026 rebuild. 19 of 21 thumbs up overall.
“used this deck to get A* in my chem Al-level. 10/10, thank you”
“Clear and concise notes in easy to understand bullet points.
Uses mark scheme specific phrases”
“10/10 literally is saving my mocks. its so well organised and broken up into topics, as well as being broken up to year one and year two.”
“This deck is so good!
This helped me remember the mechanisms and wording for questions!!”
“I achieved an A* in chem, honestly these flashcards were so important for that because it saved me so much time from not making my own … I also paid for someone else's flashcards and ended never using them because the ones you made were so much better and they're free. Legend.”
